Privacy Notice – HWRC Permit

Enveco NW Environmental Services | Privacy Notice – HWRC Permit

Why do we collect your information?

The Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) offers a permit service for Blackpool residents to allow them to bring inert waste, rubble and plasterboard into the household waste recycling centre.

We collect this information to allow us to carry out checks to ensure the permit is issued in accordance with the terms and conditions of the permit application process.

What is our lawful basis?

The lawful basis to collect and use your personal information is:

  • Compliance with a legal obligation.

The permit requires purchasing and as such, customers have to opt-in to receive one.

The Environmental Permit at the HWRC is governed by Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act as well as the Environmental Permitting Regulations and requires the Council to have controls over the waste we accept at the site.

Additionally, enforcement action is taken if customers abuse the permit, for example, by bringing commercial waste onto site under the guise of a domestic customer issued permit.

What types of information do we collect?

When you submit an application we will collect your name, address, telephone number and vehicle registration mark.

Who do we share your information with?

We may share your information with our enforcement teams if required for their investigations. We will also share your information with others if we are required to do so by law or ordered to do so by a court.

How long do we keep your information for?

We will retain your details for a period of 24 months following expiry of the permit.
