Presenting a tribute to the shows that used to be a major part of seaside entertainments - End of the Pier shows on Blackpool's historic Grade II listed North Pier. This spring Bank Holiday weekend will be a unique opportunity to once again applaud as the Pierrotters take you down memory way in a modern contemporary fashion, with fun for all the family. The Pierrotters will tantalise you to titters and tease you to tears! Also featured are the Blackpool and the Fylde College students and the Sheffield Strollers from Sheffield university.

Saturday 23rd February sees a 12th Birthday celebration of Duckie - the award winning club. It’s the Generation Game as hostess Miss Amy Lamé and music hall rap star pensioner Ida Barr introduce a bill of performance talent from artistes in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Duckie, the Olivier Award winning company for Best Entertainment, makes the links between the legacy of British popular entertainment - from the modern day to the old days.

Saturday 9th February sees Whoopee present Carnaval Ball. A night of fantasy and romance inspired by the world of 1920s Ballroom Ballets and the styling of the Ballet Russe. The event will be a masque ball complete with harlequin dancing girl, headliner and queen of British burlesque - Immodesty Blaize and more. Let the night inspire your dress for the romantic mood and let Whoopee sweep you away on this decadent night.

Blackpool on Film celebrates the rich filmic heritage of Britains premier seaside resort and the surrounding regions.

On Saturday 12th January presentations will be focused in the Pavilion Theatre of the Winter Gardens. Here Professor Mervyn Heard will present an amazing collection of images from the turn of the 19th century when the magic lantern complimented and competed with the new medium of cinema. Colourful illustrated songs, comical stories, temperance warnings, advertisements and wonderful mechanical moving slides will be used as Professor Heard and company take us on a musical, magical excursion from the age of Victorian magic lantern show to the birth of the cinema picture palace. All right and proper. Nothing vulgar shown.

Newsreel and Archive footage from the British Film Institute will be shown with an accompanying talk. Footage from the North West Film Archive will similarly be shown. The evening will be rounded off with a presentation of the Mitchell & Kenyon film Electric Edwardians at 7pm. This film is not themed by region as other Mitchell & Kenyon Films but is broken down into categories and covers the whole country including Youth and Education, The Anglo-Boer War, Workers, High Days and Holidays, and People and Places. Places covered include Blackpool, Hull, Liverpool, Blackburn, Birmingham and Manchester to name but a few.

Variety Parade - Glamour will take centre stage asVariety Parade presents a stunning spectacle, combining the nostalgia of old variety performance with exciting and sparkling acts from the world of new variety.
Neo-variety (as it has been tagged by certain fashionistas) is variety at its most exciting in years and Variety Parade is a chance to celebrate the truly egalitarian spirit in which theatres such as Blackpool’s Grand Theatre, the UK’s National Theatre of Variety, were built. Variety Parade will mix bawdy new acts with astounding high-end guests from the Tower Circus as well as from Equity’s Variety section.

Matcham Tour - There are 100 places on four timed tours of Matcham architectural gems in Blackpool. On Saturday 1st December the first 100 people to sign up when they buy their ticket to the Variety show will be taken on a tour that will lead them from the Grand Theatre down to the Tower Circus and Ballroom and then end at The Winter Gardens and will look at the beauty and wealth of Matcham architecture that remains in the town.

The show takes place on Friday 30 November 2007 under the banner of the National Theatre of Variety in association with Equity and on Saturday 1st December 2007 and has been co-produced by the Whoopee Agency.

The weekend will offer a series of open-air events of free shows and performances with two performers allied to particular venues and sites in Blackpool all working on the theme of light and fire.

Working with Blackpool Festival of Fire & Light and the Return of the Sun Festival, acts such as Madame Electra and Professor Voltina who recreate Professor Sparks famous Electrical Act from the London Paladium will work at particular venues to present free street theatre and entertainments for the visitors who are coming to enjoy the annual Illuminations Switch On. This will bring added entertainment to an already established event and will set the scene for  our  planned street entertainment festival.

The opening weekend of Admission All Classes will commence with the Cabinet of Curiosities where the Winter Gardens will be the venue for a reconstruction of a Victorian museum of curiosities with side-shows, novelty acts and an exhibition of material from the National Fairground Archives rich holdings.

With the expertise of the Whoopee Club, Londons premier agency and Jon Marshall of MagicCarpet Inc, this wondrous hall will be transformed into the equivalents of Barnums American Museum with highlights including the Girl in the Goldfish Bowl, Madame Electra, The Insect Circus and Voltina the Great.
