Name of Road: CENTRAL DRIVE (GRASMERE ROAD TO PALATINE ROAD)
Reason for Works: Road safety and accessibility works including: • A new humped zebra crossing on Central Drive between Princess Street and Chadwick Street. • Conversion of an existing pelican crossing on Central Drive between Princess Street and Louise Street into a humped zebra crossing. • Relocation and conversion of an existing zebra crossing on Central Drive between Salthouse Avenue and Chadwick Street into a humped zebra crossing. • Provision of speed cushions on Central Drive and Bethesda Road • Implementation of a 20mph Zone. • Bus stop upgrade works. • Creation of additional on-street parking areas on Central Drive between Princess Street and Louise Street. • Improved pedestrian dropped crossings and localised footway resurfacing. • Provision of planted areas where possible.
Details of Works:
Traffic Management Details if Applicable: On weekdays two-way traffic flow will maintained on Central Drive, however, temporary traffic control is likely to be required. It may also be necessary to temporary close some side roads at their junctions with Central Drive. On a number of Sundays Central Drive and Bethesda Road will be temporarily closed during the daytime. Times and dates of these Sunday closures will be displayed on site prior to implementation.
