Cut price car parking in Blackpool

With Christmas approaching fast town centre car parks in Blackpool – West Street and Hounds Hill - are joining in the festive spirit.

Weekend shoppers will be able to park for free in either of these two car parks between 9am and 1pm on Saturday mornings for the next four weeks 9, 16, and 23 December.

Sundays are now a popular shopping day and to cater for those shoppers a special 50p park all day tariff has been introduced in West Street and Houndshill multi storey car parks on Sunday 10, 17 and 24.

There’s also free car parking on Thursday evenings for late night shopping in the run up to Christmas so from 5pm to 11.30pm you can park in either West Street and Houndshill multi storey car parks absolutely free.

Disabled members of our community are asked to note that due to the development works disabled access in Houndshill Car Park is only available during the opening hours of the shopping centre. For the late night Thursdays this means up to 9pm and for the Sundays up to 4.30pm.

These Christmas parking deals are the result of a collaboration between Blackpool Council and the Town Centre Business Improvement District.

Cllr Fred Jackson, Cabinet Member with responsibility for car parking said: “The Council is pleased to be able to offer these festive parking reductions as a way of spreading a bit of Christmas cheer. We hope that local people will be encouraged to shop locally and explore some of our new shops.”

Nigel Hanson, Town Centre Manager commented: “The opening of Primark, fantastic changes to Marks and Spencer and rest of the town centre’s retail offer we have something really good to offer visitors to the town centre. And in the rum up to Christmas there’ll be special attractions on the late night Thursdays.”

“We are extremely pleased that the BID and Council are able to extend this parking offer to local and regional residents, as well as visitors to the town. A lot of work has gone into making the town centre an attractive place to shop and relax in. These parking offers in the run up to Christmas will go a long way to making people’s trips to the town centre even more enjoyable.”
