You don't need superpowers to be a foster carer.....

We asked our children what was most important to them in a foster carer - they wanted someone normal, fun, friendly, caring and supportive. That's what we need at Blackpool Council, no super powers required - just someone doing something super special.

We desperately need new foster carers to come forward. You don't have to be married, or own a house - but the child/children you foster will need their own bedroom. You can already have children (if of course they are happy to be a part of the fostering journey) be single, married, straight, gay, older or young*! What matters to us most is what you can offer a child at a time they need it most.

If fostering a child is something you have considered, why don't you take the first step to learning more about becoming a foster carer today. You can request a free information pack online, learn more about the fostering process with our handy online guide or you could pop into one of our informal and pressure free drop in information events, all dates for 2019 are listed here. Our dedicated fostering team are friendly, experienced and are on hand to support you every step of the way. It doesn't matter if you would like to learn a little more by asking a question or two, or if you are certain you'd like to start the process - we look forward to hearing from you.

*our desired minimum age is 21 unless you can evidence solid experience in a childcare setting.
