Learn to Climb

Last Modified June 14, 2017

Whether you are new to climbing or an old hand we have a course for you.

We deliver NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme) courses at Blackpool Sports Centre climbing wall for adults and young people alike. The courses run for six week blocks and comprise of six one hour sessions. The NICAS syllabus consists of five levels and has been expertly formulated so your transition from beginner to rock god/goddess (and anywhere in between!) is as comprehensive and inspiring as possible.

Our fully qualified and experienced instructors will adapt the delivery of the courses to individual requirements. The staff are keen to pass on their knowledge and passion of climbing. We will supply comfortable harnesses, ropes and climbing equipment as part of your course so all you need are trainers, clothing you can move easily in and bags of enthusiasm.

The minimum age for taking part in any of our climbing courses is seven years old, but we have no maximum age.

Before the courses begin, the appropriate forms (registration and/or parental consent) will have to be completed with a member of staff. For more information or to book, please contact Blackpool Sports Centre.

In addition to our NICAS courses, our instructors are available for private or special requirement groups. If it's just a one to one or a short refresher course for a couple of friends wanting to get back into the sport, we can deliver it for you.

We also allow young people the opportunity to have a go at climbing by offering climbing taster sessions at Blackpool Sports Centre on a Friday evening at 8.00pm. Please call 01253 478474 to reserve a place.
