Birth Parents

If your child is being placed for adoption without your consent you need to seek legal advice from a solicitor, if you have not already done so.

Blackpool Council are currently in the process of producing a leaflet for birth parents, in conjunction with the Family Rights Group, to fully explaining the adoption process. This will be added to the website as soon as it is available. We understand that you may need help and support from an independent person and you may access this yourself by contacting After Adoption.

After Adoption offer a counselling service and may be able to put you in touch with others who have been in your position for advice and support. If you are struggling to write a letter for a mailbox arrangement made by the Blackpool Team please let us know, as we can meet with you and offer some help or guidance.
