Hospitalisation - Pet Care
If you have to leave home in an emergency to go into hospital or a care home, you may be worried about who will care for your pet.
Adult Social Care may be able to make an emergency arrangement to care for your pet.
If your friends or neighbours cannot look after your pet, we will contact voluntary animal care agencies, such as the RSPCA, or arrange for care in a cattery or kennels.
If you cannot make arrangements for someone else to look after your pet
and you are unable to pay the fees yourself, Adult Social Care may be able to pay the fees for up to two weeks.
We will look at the position again after two weeks to consider if further payments can be made.
