Adult and Community Learning Courses         Credit crunch prices for Summer term only:

                        10 week courses - 40 pounds!

Blackpool Council run a range of Adult and Community Learning Courses at venues across the town.  You can view the short-course directory by using the link below or selecting 'publications' from the menu on the right.   We offer a wide range of courses, both daytime and evening ranging from IT to Art and Yoga.  There are three main providers including the Council, Montgomery Education Centre and Blackpool and Fylde College.   For help, advice or information or just a chat about adult learning in general, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Please note that the following information applies to Council courses only. You must apply separately to other providers and there may be different terms and conditions.

If you want to enrol for a course, you will need to complete our enrolment form.
You will need to print the form out, fill in all the sections and return it to us using the free post address below. If you are successfully enrolled onto a course, confirmation will shortly follow.

There is a minimum fee of £5 for five-week courses and £10 for nine-week courses for people in receipt of the following benefits:

- Pensions Guarantee Credit
- Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income Support
- Council Tax benefit
- Housing benefit
- Working Tax Credit
- Carers Allowance

Remission applies to tuition fees only. There may be other minimal charges  - more information will be provided at enrolment.
If you are not in receipt of benefits you will be required to pay for your course(s).

You can pay by either cash, cheque or credit/debit card. Cheques should be made payable to Blackpool Council. The cost for 5-week course is £20 per person and for 10-week course - £40 per person.

If you would like an enrolment form and/or brochure of our courses to be posted out to you, please phone the Adult and Community Learning team or email us.

If you would like advice regarding additional learning support or equipment to aid your learning, e.g. a special mouse, induction loop system or information regarding accessibility of learning venues, please contact us on 01253 478131.

Learners must be aged 19 and over.

Please note, that course places cannot be confirmed until payment has been received and the enrolment form returned with a signature.

We reserve the right to postpone or cancel any course due to unforeseen circumstances or insufficient numbers. In this event the full course fee will be refunded. We try to inform you of this one week before the course starts. We are not able to reimburse other related or incurred costs.
