Blackpool Council offers a variety of services for young people to get information and advice, this ranges from help with getting into employment, education or training through to support with sexual orientation, homelessness and more.
Employment, Education & Training If you are aged 13-19, the Connexions NEET Team can offer you expert information, advice, guidance and support from qualified professionals to help you make important decisions about your life.

If you are a young person with a learning difficulty or disability you can be provided with support until you are 25.
If you are aged 13-19 our service includes:- ·
- A named adviser
- Expert information, advice, guidance and support to help you make decisions about your life, education and career choices
- Access to training and employment opportunities
- Regular, updated local vacancies
- Support in applying for work and training
- CV preparation
- Information on life issues, such as health, housing, substance misuse etc.
- Referral to services who can help you with specific issues
- Short courses run to help you move on in your life
Homelessness Streetlife is a local charity that provides shelter and support to vulnerable young people aged 16-25 who are or at risk of homlessness in Blackpool. They are located in Blackpool Town Centre and have an emergency night shelter and day centre (The Base). You can call the Streetlife Team on 01253 294477.
Sexual Orientation Support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) young people 13-19 is offered on a 1-1 basis and through group work. ok2be support group meet once a week for LGBT young people. For more information contact Amanda Heyes (Vulnerable Groups Worker) on 07827983392.
Blackpool Council also provides information and advice to young people on drugs & alcohol, sexual health and support in school. |
