Animal Health and Welfare

Animal Health and Welfare As a local authority, it is our responsibility to enforce legislation designed to protect livestock and farm animals.

We are responsible for the health and welfare of the animals - not only the place they are kept, but also during transportation, at markets and at shows.

We are also responsible for the prevention and control of animal disease such as avian influenza, foot and mouth disease and rabies.
