How do I report a crime?

If a crime has been, or is being committed, the police should always be contacted first. This is very important if there is violence or the threat of violence. The police should also be informed if people are selling or using drugs in the area.

There are only two numbers you need to know to contact the police in Lancashire.

0845 1 25 35 45 is the number to contact the police for all non-emergencies.

999 is the number to use when there is danger to life or a crime is in progress.

Crimestoppers operates across the UK to help identify, prevent, solve and reduce crime. This valuable community service enables anyone with details of a criminal activity to pass them on anonymously without fear of exposure or retribution.

All it takes to pass on information is one freephone call to 0800 555 111. Every call is treated as confidential so no-one will know your identity.
