Arts Awards for Young People

During the summer holidays of 2007 we ran our first Arts Award Bronze Summer Scheme. Young people from all over Blackpool took part in a range of art activities, visited arts events and received guidance through the Arts Award from a team of trained advisors; thirty-three gained a bronze award.

This summer the Arts Award Bronze Summer Scheme will run from July 28^th to 22^nd August, 2008. We will be offering artist led activities in filming and animation, visual arts, dance, photography, DJ skills, drama and theatre practice and organised visits to arts venues and events.

We will also be providing opportunities for young people, who have already achieved their Bronze Award to work towards a Silver Award. About the Arts Award

The Arts Award is for young people aged 11 to 25, who want to enjoy and achieve in the arts.

The Arts Award is run by Arts Council England and Trinity Guildhall. In Blackpool the Arts Service and the Grundy Art Gallery are your local centres for the Arts Award.

The Arts Award is a national accredited qualification, which supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders.

The Arts Award is offered at Bronze, Silver and Gold (levels 1, 2 and 3 on the National Qualifications Framework); certificates are issued by Trinity College London.
