Blackpool Culture Shops Programme

Blackpool Council is one of a number of local authorities across the country that has recently received support from the Department for Communities and Local Government through the Looking After Our Town Centres initiative. This support has been provided to encourage the use of vacant shop premises to reinvigorate town centres and help economic recovery following the recession. As part of a complementary set of recession-related measures, Blackpool Council has also been awarded a Grants for the Arts Award for the Art in Empty Spaces initiative to support a programme of artistic activity in our empty town centre properties.

We are now looking for expressions of interest from artists and creative enterprises that would like to be considered.

We are seeking new artists to exhibit their work, the closing date for submissions is 24th January 2012, noon.
