Premises where certain goods are sold by way of competitive bidding are required to be registered with the Council. Plans should be sent with the application together with the fee which is a one-off payment.
Following consultation with various departments, including the Police, applications are then referred to the Council’s Public Protection Committee for grant or refusal, at which the applicant may attend in person if desired.
If granted a certificate of registration is sent to the applicant. This may or may not include additional conditions. The registration will then stay in force but will cease to have effect if the premises are vacated or it has previously been revoked.
Making an application
Applications may be made online or by submitting a paper copy of the form. Please visit the 'Forms' section on the right of this page to apply. Details of the criteria for applications and guidance notes to assist with filling in the form are in the publications section. Online applications must be paid for using a credit or debit card.
