Services For children
Children of any age can join the library. It is free and there are lots of things to read and to do in Blackpool's libraries:
- Board books (for tiny fingers to hold)
- Picture books
- Easy Readers (books for new readers)
- Non - Fiction (Fact Books for hobbies and school topics)
- Fiction (stories to read for pleasure)
- Audio Books
- Dictionaries and Encyclopaedias
- Teenage collections
- Graphic Novels
- Magazines
Homework
There are books on many topics at each Blackpool Library. If you can not find what you need a member of staff will be happy to help you.
Computers
There are free public computers at every Blackpool Library. Children and Young People can use these free of charge providing they are a member of the library.
There are printing facilities at all libraries. The larger libraries also have photocopying machines for public use. Staff will be happy to help you if you want to use these services. There is a slight charge for prints and photocopies
Activities
- Rhythm and Rhyme (for babies and parents/carers)
- Story Times (for under 5s)
- Chatterbooks (for young readers to talk about books and have fun)
- Summer Reading Challenge - an annual reading scheme for children 4 - 12
- X - Box Club (at Palatine Library only)
- Holiday craft activities
- Other special events during the year
