Learning in Libraries
Learn at your Library Whatever your age or interests your local library is a fantastic place for you to visit to learn and discover new things. You can use your library as a base to study using the wide range of materials and resources, both in-house and on-line, which are available free to library customers.
The facilities available at your local community library include; helpful and approachable library staff who will help you locate resources or information, free Internet access and use of MS Office software including Word. Printing and photocopying services are available for a modest charge.
Library staff will also recommend suitable learning opportunities available to you from other local organisations.
Free Computer `taster sessions`
If you have not used computers or the internet before and would like to give it a try you can book onto an ICT `taster course` for beginners which the Library Service is running as part of the national initiative `Race Online 2012` in the build up to the London Olympics.
