Child Protection Procedures

Child Protection Procedures All Blackpool’s children should be safe and be able to develop to their full potential. However, sometimes children are not safe; a child may be being abused, either by a deliberate act that causes harm to them, or by the failure of the child’s parent or carer to protect the child appropriately.

The child protection scheme takes measures to safeguard vulnerable children and young people at risk or suffering from physical, emotional or sexual abuse. This involves investigating reports of suspected abuse and where appropriate applying for a Child Assessment Order, Care Order, Supervision Order or Emergency Protection Order.
