Child Trust Fund

Child Trust Fund The Child Trust Fund (CTF) is a savings and investment account. The Government will make payments to your child through this account to help build up a useful stock of assets for them when they reach the age of 18.
The CTF account will help to:
  • strengthen the savings habit of future generations,
  • spread the benefits of asset ownership to all,
  • educate people in the need for savings and
  • give young people a basic understanding of financial products.
The Child Trust Fund will not be taken into account in any claims for benefit and it is not taxable as your child will not pay income or capital gains tax on their Child Trust Fund savings and investments.
