Support and activities for children with disabilities and their families Blackpool Council provides a number of services and activities for children and young peope with disabilities.

Each local authority must provide a short breaks service statement so families know what services are available, the eligibility criteria for these services and how the range of services will meet the needs of disabled children in the area.

What is a Short Break?
A short break is part of a continuum of services which supports disabled children and their families.

Short breaks come in a variety of formats and each one can last from just a few hours to a few days and occasionally longer depending on the type of provision and the needs of the children and their families.
