Children's Playschemes

Children's Playschemes

Blackpool Council has been running successful play schemes within the borough for many years. All our sites have been OFSTED inspected and approved and adhere to the standards of care that is recommended by OFSTED for out of school provision. All play leaders/workers have CRB clearance.

There are five sites within the Borough that operate play schemes for 4 weeks of the school summer holidays. Initially it started with just 2 schemes and has grown greatly. Each scheme will have a different character which will be determined by the Play Leaders themselves but they will be run through a universal set of policies and procedures.

The overall aims and objectives of the play schemes are for children to enjoy themselves within a safe, happy, relaxed and stimulating environment, where children of all abilities can be themselves, have fun and simply enjoy being a child.

The play schemes are supervised between the hours of 10.00 a.m - 12:00 noon and 1:30 p.m -3.30 p.m.

Whilst your child is there, they will be in the care of the Play Leaders and/or other adults approved by the play scheme.

Children will learn arts and crafts, go on trips out to places of interest, take part in swimming and sport sessions, and will be amazed by a range of professional entertainers.

Registration costs £5.00 and each session thereafter will cost £1.00. Children aged 4 to 11 years are eligible to take part.
