Civil Ceremonies in Blackpool Town Hall

Civil Ceremonies in Blackpool Town Hall Weddings and Civil Partnership Ceremonies
We are very pleased that you are considering Blackpool Town Hall as the venue for your Civil Ceremony. This splendid building is already one of the most popular choices for couples wishing to join together in a Wedding or a Civil Partnership. The Town Hall is located in an excellent position in the very heart of Blackpool, in Talbot Square opposite the famous North Pier and close to car parking facilities.

Completed in 1900, this historic building is furnished in the grand style and is a Grade II Listed Building. The interior has coffered ceilings, mosaic floors, marble walls and stained glass windows. The magnificent broad staircase with its ornamental iron balustrade, always adorned with fresh seasonal flowers, leads up to the impressive Council Chamber. Many famous personalities, including World Leaders and celebrities of stage and screen have climbed those stairs during the Town Hall's long history.

If you decide to have your wedding or civil partnership at the Town Hall, you have a choice of two rooms where to hold your ceremony: The Council Chamber or Committee Room A. Click on Publications on the right to look at photographs of the two rooms.

Council Chamber
This elegant Victorian room with its ornate glass ceiling is steeped in history. The panelled walls are decorated with murals depicting several chapters in the history of the Wars of the Roses, including the marriage of King Henry Vll of Lancaster to the Princess Elizabeth of York. Natural light filters through the stained glass windows which chart the aspirations of Blackpool.

The Council Chamber provides seating for a maximum of 100 guests and the horseshoe-shaped arrangement brings your family and friends closer to you as you speak your vows to each other. The Council Chamber has been licensed for Civil Ceremonies since 1995.

Committee Room A
With its stained glass window as centre-piece, Committee Room A affords an intimate and unusual setting for your civil ceremony. Seating up to a maximum of 60 guests this panelled, elegant room on the first floor of the Town Hall ensures your guests feel as much a part of the ceremony as you are. Committee Room A has been licensed for Civil Ceremonies since 2007.

Both rooms permit the most intimate of settings to ensure a unique and special day. Your photographer has full access to capture the special memories of your happy day and we will set up a mock signing after the Legal signing so your guests can also take their own photographs.

Wedding and civil partnership ceremonies are held at the Town Hall:

Monday to Friday           9.00am to 4.00pm and on
Saturday afternoons    1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Our Town Hall Ceremonies Co-ordinator is available to answer any enquiries you may have and you can contact them using the details on the right.  We can send you a brochure and booking form with price list if required.
