What do I do if I have a problem with a Licensed Premises or application to change Opening Hours?
If you want to make a representation against a pending application for a new licence or a variation of an existing licence, your comments must be made in writing within 28 days of the application being submitted to the Licensing Service.
Sometimes, premises that are already licensed can cause problems. Where this happens, the Council will try to resolve the issues by discussion with all those involved. Application may also be made to the Council for a review of the licence.
Providing the review complaint is not frivolous, vexatious or repetitive, the Council may arrange a hearing. At the hearing the Licensing Panel may decide not to do anything or to impose extra conditions on the licence. It can also suspend either all or part of the licence for up to three months, or revoke the licence entirely.
If you want to highlight a concern on a current licensed premises, please contact the Licensing Service.
