Blackpool Early Action for Change aims to support children, young people and families at difficult periods in their lives to provide the right support at the right time in a way that offers truly child and family focused services.
The purpose of this is to shift the focus from dealing with difficulties in children’s lives to preventing things from going wrong in the first place. The ways in which this support is provided is by introducing new, more integrated ways of working, so that all services working with children, young people and families are working together using shared processes.
To enable this to happen new ways of working are being introduced in line with the guidance set out in the government agenda Every Child Matters.
This includes introducing a common assessment framework (also known as CAF), the lead practitioner role, information sharing guidance and introducing a directory of services.
Please see our publications area on the right for information aimed at children and young people, parents and carers and professionals.
