Where are Blackpool’s Cycle Routes?

Where are Blackpool’s Cycle Routes? To help cyclists the Council has constructed a number of cycle routes:

  • The Jubilee Cycle way runs  west of the tram tracks from North Pier to Anchorsholme providing cyclists with excellent sea views.
  • The Talbot Square to Staining route runs through Stanley Park onto more rural areas of Staining.
  • The South Promenade route runs from Starr Gate to the Sandcastle past the Solaris eco-building with its cafe, exhibition and meeting spaces, and the Great Promenade Show sculpture display.
All routes are signed to a high standard.

Blackpool's has now constructed three sets of facilities under the Sustrans managed 'Links to Schools' programme. These facilities are designed carefully to help children use their bikes to travel between home and school using the National Cycle Network; they are not designed with experienced adult cyclists in mind. Such riders can of course use these facilities if they choose. Networks have been provided as follows:

Schools benefiting are indicated on the schematic maps .
