Manchester to Blackpool Cycle Ride

Get involved with Cycle Blackpool this summer on the famous Manchester to Blackpool ride, Sunday 12 July 2009.

Each year Blackpool Council has put a large team in for this event, and this year we are trying to get more of you riding than ever before.  The Cycle Blackpool team will be holding training rides for all abilities at the Blackpool Sports Centre, off West Park Drive, every Tuesday evening.  Meet at 6:00 pm.  Rides will be tailored to different levels/speeds - so there is no need to be worried about keeping up with the 'racing snakes'!

On the day of the event, we will be providing transport for you and your bike from the Solaris to the start in Manchester, saving you £20 on the advertised rate for the event.

Entry costs £14.  Either contact Reg Storey (477804) or Chris Simcock (478433) for an application form - a cheque for £14 made payable to 'Bike Events Ltd' should then be sent in a sealed envelope with the completed entry form to Chris Simcock, Head of Sport and Physical Activity, Progress House

 or book on-line:

Go to www.bike-events.com and select Manchester to Blackpool event, then click on 'Book Now' - enter as a team rider for 'Cycle Blackpool', which costs £14 and select 9am as a preferred start time.  There is no need to add transport, as that will be provided by Blackpool Council for staff.  Follow the process through to the end of the form where there is an option to pay online or to pay offline.

If you need any more information or a word of encouragement, contact Reg on extension 477804 or email reg.storey@blackpool.gov.uk
