How much will debt advice cost?
Professional, independent and impartial debt advice is available free of charge to anyone who needs it.
Beware of companies advertising in the press, on the radio or on TV offering debt advice services (particularly those offering to write off up to 75% of your debts). Many of these are commercial companies who will charge you for their services.
National Debtline, Consumer Credit Counselling Services and Citizens Advice Bureau all offer free confidential telephone advice services (see links under 'related information' on the right of this page).
A FREE confidential debt advice clinic is now available in the council Customer First Centre every Monday morning between 10am and 12.30pm - no appointment needed, just drop in.
