Disabled People - Parking Bays

COUNCIL OWNED CAR PARKS
We provide free parking in our car parks, for a maximum of 3 hours for disabled blue badge holders. Blue badges must be clearly displayed in the vehicle (showing the expiry date NOT the photo), and clocks set displaying the time of your arrival.
A valid Pay and Display ticket must be displayed if parking for longer than 3 hours or when parking in any other bay.
We do not advise you to use the multi-storey car parks if your disability means you cannot use the stairs.

MULTI-PURPOSE BAYS
Please Note. T
here are some On-Street bays that have more than one use depending on the time of day (and sometimes day of the week). For this reason, road markings cannot be used and drivers MUST refer to the signage relating to that bay. This will indicate what restrictions are in place for the bay and what times these restrictions are in force.

RESIDENTS PARKING AREAS
Blue Badges ARE NOT valid for use in any residents parking areas within Blackpool. This includes any Double Yellow Lines there may be within residents parking areas. A Penalty Charge Notice may be issued to vehicles for non-compliance.

PROMENADE (BETWEEN TALBOT SQUARE AND NEW BONNY STREET)
The area of the Promenade between Talbot Square (North Pier) and New Bonny Street is a Controlled Parking Zone. Blue Badges ARE NOT valid for use along this section of the promenade at any time.

PRIVATELY OWNED CAR PARKS
There are now several privately operated car parks available in Blackpool, particularly around the town centre. As stated, these are run by private companies and Blackpool Council have no authority and are not responsible for these car parks.
We advise you check the signage to see if your Blue Badge is valid for use there.

GUIDANCE
The information provided on these web pages is for guidance only. Always ensure that you check the restrictions in force when parking on street by taking note of any signs and/or road markings. When parking in a car park check the tariff boards for prices and any other instructions that you need to take into account. If you are in doubt as to whether you can park or not then don’t.
