What measures can I take to help recover my dog if it gets lost?

If you take the following precautionary measures you are more likely to get your dog back if it gets lost:

Make sure your dog has a collar and tag

By Law, all dogs must have a collar along with an identification tag, with the dogs name and the owner's telephone number. This makes it easy for us to contact you when your dog is found.

Micro chipping

Micro chipping is the most effective way of identifying your dog and it is permanent providing you keep your contact details up to date.

The microchip is a small implant (the size of a grain of rice) that can be painlessly inserted in to the scruff of your dogs neck.  It contains a registration number unique to your pet so if it does go missing and is found, then it can be quickly reunited with you.

You can get more information about micro chipping from your vet.
