Blackpool Council provides a substance misuse service called the hub for young people aged 24 and under, their families, friends and professionals alike. They offer advice and information on all substances including alcohol, tobacco and solvents. the hub aims to be flexible to meet young people's needs, provides one to one support and is free, friendly and non-judgmental.
Staff are able to meet young people in a wide range of settings all over Blackpool, including schools, youth clubs, children's homes, children's centres or another venue of their choosing.
the hub offers:
- Advice and information on all substances including alcohol, tobacco and solvents.
- A flexible service to meet young people's needs which is free, friendly and non-judgmental.
- One to one support.
- Training and group work.
- Substance misuse treatment, including access to weekly doctors clinics.
- A multi-agency approach.
- 24 hour answering machine service.
Drop In Sessions the hub also provides weekly drop in sessions for young people. These take place on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 1pm to 4pm at Connect (click here for details).
