EDUCATION
Visit and Workshop Schools, colleges and universities can visit the Gallery independently or book a tour and workshop. The tour includes a talk and open discussion about the exhibition, followed by a practical workshop enabling students to experiment with and explore themes from the exhibition. Dates and times for these visits can be discussed with the Education Officer when booking. These activities are free of charge, unless otherwise stated.

If you would like to attend our forum meetings at the Gallery, they offer a unique opportunity for teachers to get together and discuss the art curriculum.
Artist-led workshops Grundy has a team of freelance artists who can lead practical workshops based on our current exhibitions for schools, colleges and universities. These workshops can take place at the Gallery or in school, college or university. Please call to discuss opportunities. YOUNG PEOPLE
Start Club Start Club workshops enable 6 to 11 year olds to meet artists and engage with the artwork on display to create their own inspired works of art. Workshops are on selected Saturdays from 10.30am to 12 noon. A year’s membership costs just £3, which includes approximately 9 workshops.
Start Plus Start Plus workshops and projects enable 11 to 16 year olds to engage with artists and explore different aspects of art, through one off workshops or week long projects during the school holidays. A year’s membership for this club is £5 (information on future activities will be sent out to members).
Arts Award T he Arts Award is a national qualification, which supports young people to develop as artists and arts leaders. Young people aged between 11-25 can achieve an Arts Award at levels Bronze, Silver and Gold. The Grundy Art Gallery is a registered Arts Award centre and Kerry Hunt, Grundy Education Officer is the registered Arts Award Advisor. Please contact the gallery for more information on how to get involved in the Bronze Summer Scheme or if you are already doing an Arts Award how we can help.
FAMILIES
Activity Guides Make sure you pick up your free activity guide when you visit the Gallery. The guide is a tool to help families engage with our exhibitions, have looking for things and draw together. Family workshops If you would like to join the mailing list and find out about our family workshops throughout the year please email the gallery. Community, adult and youth groups can visit the Grundy Art Gallery independently or book a tour and workshop. The tour is an interactive talk about the exhibition in the gallery space, followed by a practical workshop enabling the group to experiment with and explore an element from the exhibition.

ADULTS
Art Course This course explores contemporary art in ten, fun and easy sessions from October through to March. Workshops and talks are held on Wednesdays at the Gallery from 1pm – 3pm. The course includes two coach trips to art galleries in the North West. If you would like to enrol on this course there is a one-off fee of £15, which includes all workshops, talks and trips.
