Family Information Service

Family Information Service  
The Blackpool Family Information Service (formerly the Children's Information Service) is a free, impartial service giving detailed information and advice on childcare as well as general information on a wide range of services for children, young people, professionals and families.  We are a friendly team consisting of four FIS Advisors who can advise on all family related subjects such as:


  • Educational Services
  • Physical and Mental Health
  • Health & Safety
  • Childcare 
  • Parenting Support
  • Financial Issues
  • Caring for Disabled Children
  • Activities and Support for Young People
  • Free Entitlement for 3 & 4 year olds and much more!
You can also get help and advice about setting up a nursery, becoming an childminder and the availability of training opportunities.
