Approval of Food Businesses Handling Food of Animal Origin
Businesses that that make, prepare or handle food of animal origin (meat, poultry, meat products, fish, dairy etc.) for other businesses (rather than directly to the public) may need to be approved.
Very few businesses in Blackpool will require approval. If you are unsure whether your business requires approval please contact us.
You must not commence any food business which requires approval unless you have received approval from your local authority. Approval will not be given unless you meet the required standards set out in Regulation (EC) No 853/2004.
If your business requires approval you can complete and submit the 'Application for Approval of a Food Business Establishment' online here or you can print it off and return it to us.
If your business does not require approval it will need to be registered.
