What are the regulations regarding poker nights etc in pubs under the Gambling Act 2005?

The Gambling Act 2005 makes provision for low stake gaming in alcohol-licensed premises.

The amount that may be staked by a person on any game of chance, except dominos and cribbage, must not exceed £5. The aggregate of the amounts that may be staked on games of poker in any one day must not exceed £100 (a day is defined as a 24 hour period beginning at midday).

The maximum amount or value of a prize that may be won in any game of poker is £100.

The requirements in regard to stakes and prizes in members' club is different to the above, please contact the Licensing Service for further advice.
