Do I need an MOT if my vehicle has a Certificate of Compliance issued by the Council's testing station?
As long as the vehicle currently holds a Hackney Carriage or Private Hire VEHICLE licence issued by the Licensing Service, a separate MOT is not required if the vehicle has been issued with a Certificate of Compliance from the Council's vehicle testing centre.
When taxing a Hackney / Private Hire vehicle at the Post Office we advise that you complete the DVLA V112 form (available to download from the 'Forms' section on the right of this webpage) to show that your vehicle is exempt from the requirement of holding an MOT.
