Charges for wheeled bins

All properties within Blackpool have now been provided with the appropriate receptacles for their household waste (wheeled bins and recycling sacks).
It is the responsibility of the resident to ensure the appropriate waste receptacles are in situ at the dwelling prior to the property being occupied. If the property is within a wheeled bin area and occupation occurs without suitable receptacles in place then Blackpool Council will be unable to provide a refuse collection service .The cost for removal of any waste accumulated during occupation without waste receptacles will be the sole responsibility of the owner/resident to pay for its collection/disposal.
Blackpool Council waste receptacles (wheeled bins) are charged at £30.00 per bin for new residents and a £15.00 replacement charge for existing residents (including delivery). These charges apply for the grey lidded, blue lidded and green lidded bin regardless of the waste stream contained. Brown and blue recycling sacks are provided free of charge. Payment must be made at the time of request and bins will not be supplied prior to the receipt of a cleared payment.
Blackpool Council will not empty resident-supplied waste receptacles/bins that do not comply with our supply, design or safety requirements. Unsuitable receptacles/bins may cause injury to staff and/or damage to the collection vehicle.
Please contact Customer First contact centre on 01253 477 477 to order wheeled bins if required. If you would like any further information with regards to the charging policy please email
