- If you live in the South of Blackpool you will have recently received a clear plastic bag through your door for your unwanted textiles, along with a leaflet, which explains what can and cannot be collected. Please fill this bag with any textiles around the house that you now longer want or need. If you have not yet receieved your sacks/leaflet please be patient as they will be delivered soon.
- Collections will be fortnightly along with your recycling (blue and green lidded bins) Please place the bag next to your recycling bins at your designated collection point.
- If you place your textile recycling sacks out for collection on your recycling week, you will automatically be issued with another pack of 3 x sacks through your letter box.
Every year Blackpool throws away huge amounts of household waste, which subsequently ends up in landfill. By redirected waste we are ensuring that future generations are able to sustain their environments more effectively.
What is Trinity Hospice?
Trinity is a specialist palliative care service caring for adults and children who have progressive life-limiting illnesses. As an independent charity it receive a grant from the NHS but most of its funds come from fundraising in the local community. With this in mind Blackpool Council has teamed up with local charities to recycle unwanted textiles, redistributing them to countries that need them as well as supporting local charitable causes.
