Need an extra waste bin?

Blackpool Council have strict legislative targets to meet both in relation to the amount of material that needs to be recycled and the amount that can be sent to landfill sites. Therefore, the distribution of extra bins for general waste is limited to those people who have exceptional circumstances, such as households with large families, as we need to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
- The three bins provided (blue, green and grey lidded) should have ample capacity for the average household, with 60% of your waste able to be recycled. Therefore, if you are recycling your waste properly there should be no need for an extra grey bin.
- Extra recycling however can be placed next to the blue-lidded bin in up to 3 manageable sized bags.
- Please do not overload your grey bin, or put extra bags of rubbish by the side of your bin, as these will not be collected. Please try to recycle what you can.
- However, if you feel that you require an extra bin you will need to contact our Customer First team to arrange for one of our Waste Recycling Officers to visit you in your home and carry out a Waste Audit to assess your situation. There is a charge of £30.00 for any authorised additional waste bin.
