M55 Hub

M55 HubThe M55 Hub is a proposal to develop the lands at the south eastern approach to Blackpool. It encompasses Whyndyke Farm, land at Peel Hill, the lands around Whitehills Park and large areas of Marton Moss as far out as School Road.

If this proposal is selected as the preferred option for growth through the Blackpool and Fylde core strategies, it could eventually contain up to 7,000 new homes, a new District Centre, a Country Park, lakes and woodland, a new secondary school, four new primary schools and 50 hectares of new employment land. It would be a major new approach into Blackpool and the Fylde and could create 5,000 to 10,000 new jobs.

Blackpool and Fylde Councils have appointed David Lock Associates to produce a conceptual plan for the M55 Hub and this is contained within the Prospectus for Development. This Prospectus and all other associated documents can be viewed by clicking on the 'Publications' link on the right hand side of this page or by clicking on the document listed below
