Local Economic Initiatives

Lancashire Economic Partnership

The Lancashire Economic Partnership brings together the local authorities of Lancashire, including Blackpool. The Partnership works with the private and community sectors to deliver economic development and regeneration activity across a wide geographic area. Strategies have been formulated to bring economic growth across all of the region.

Fylde Coast Initiative

The Fylde Coast Initiative brings together the three Fylde Coast local authorities of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre. Formed in 1999 the Initiative aims to deliver a range of practical solutions to benefit and develop the economy of the Fylde Coast. It ensures that the three local authorities have a mechanism by which they can come together to discuss important issues and formulate common responses to matters which affect the whole area.

Central and West Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Chamber is the regions largest and longest established business promotion agency, providing assistance with exporting, training and business information.

The North West Development Agency

The North West Development Agency has recently developed a strategy to deliver new resources and investment into North West England.

Through a series of clear objectives this strategy aims to:
Attract and retain a skilled and talented workforce
Strengthen the infrastructure of North west England
Nurture our environment, heritage and culture
Build on our natural creativity for competitiveness and innovation

The Regional Development Agency co-ordinates regeneration activity, inward investment promotion and investment in infrastructure and the environment.
