Does the Register Office have a car park?
Yes we have a car park at the rear of our Office, located on Charnley Road, for which it is free to park during office hours from Monday to Friday. However, if you are attending a ceremony on a Saturday, then you will need to obtain a permit from our receptionist in order to park there free of charge.
If the Register Office car park is full, there is on-street parking in the surrounding streets for which you need to pay.
If you are attending a ceremony on a Saturday and the car park is full, then you can drive through the Register Office car park, past the raised barrier into a Pay and Display car park.
Please Note: This Pay and Display car park is not available to members of the public during normal working hours: only on weekday evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
- Giving Notice takes approximately 20-30 minutes per person.
- Marriage and civil partnership ceremonies last approximately 30 minutes to one hour.
