Owner Occupied Repairs and Maintenance

If you own your own home and are experiencing problems repairing or maintaining your property then the Home Owners Advice Team are able to help in a variety of ways. These include:-

A full or partial survey of your property to identify any repairs or maintenance issues that you may have now or in the future.
A comprehensive schedule of works, either priced or not, that you can use when organising for the work to be done.
A range of financial assistance including equity release loans and grants
Assistance with locating a reliable contractor and/or employing them to undertake the work for you.

If you experience a sudden emergency that isn’t covered by your home insurance then we may be able to offer help getting a repair done.

To qualify for this help:-
  • The emergency must be a threat to life or health and
  • You must be in receipt of a means tested benefit
Examples of qualifying emergencies are:-
  • Roof leaks
  • Sudden loss of electricity,
  • Leaking pipes.
