How can I have my say about a planning application?
Anyone can send in their views about a current planning application whether it be in support for, or an objection to the proposal. This can be done by using our
on-line planning application pages. Just view the application you are interested in and click on the 'Comments' or you can email or write to us.
This correspondence will be taken into consideration when determining the application.
If you make a written objection or support for an application, we will send you details of the decision soon after it has been made.
The Local Government (Access to Information) Act 1985 allows your written views to be seen by other members of the public and the applicant.
If an application goes before the Development Control Committee, there is also an opportunity to address the Committee verbally and state your views on the proposal. This can be arranged by using our
on-line application form or by writing to:
Head of Legal Democratic Services,
Representations by the Public,
PO Box 1066,
Blackpool,
FY1 1GB
You can
view our leaflet explaining how the scheme for addressing the Committee works, and how to claim this right. This leaflet is sent to all people who make written representations about an application.
Alternatively, a Ward Councillor can be contacted and asked to speak on behalf of a supporter or an objector on a particular proposal.
Please note all letters will be made available for public inspection on both the application file and our website. If there is any personal information you would prefer not to be published on the website, please advise us on your correspondence.
