The Play Ranger service is currently being offered across numerous parks in Blackpool and is open to all children giving them opportunities to:
Feel empowered by having free choice,
Encourage discipline and good social habits,
Encourage participation for all interests, abilities and ages through various activities,
Integrate children with special needs / disabilities,
Encourage children to play outside and make more use of parks and open spaces all year round,
Reduce fears of bullying.
Blackpool Council’s Play Rangers funded by the Big Lottery Fund offer a free service, providing activities for children including arts and crafts, den building, junk modelling, run around games, water play and much more!
The scheme operates under an open access policy which allows children to COME AND GO as they please. Under no circumstances are Play Rangers responsible for any children. Play Ranger sessions are not childcare sessions and your child can leave at anytime if they wish to do so! Under 8’s must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a responsible adult.
