When does Portage stop?

If you no longer want Portage for any reason because:

  • you feel the service is no longer useful to you at this time
  • your child is three and started attending nursery
  • your child has an early placement in a special school
  • you move to another area where Portage is not available

you need to let us know about the change in your child's / family circumstances as soon as possible so that we can make places available for other children on our waiting list.

In the case of your child starting nursery, your Portage visits would be reviewed and it may be decided that home visits should end but your child would continue to be monitored at the nursery.

Portage will stop only after you have spoken to your Home Visitor and it has been mutually agreed.
