Emergency Rest Centres
Blackpool Council has a number of buildings, which can be turned into Rest Centres for the short term care of people who have been evacuated because of an emergency situation.
These centres are staffed by members of Blackpool Council’s Emergency Response Group (ERG) and the Voluntary Agencies e.g. British Red Cross Society, WRVS, Salvation Army, etc. The Police and local radio will advise you where the Rest Centre has been established.
If you are evacuated and choose not to go to the Rest Centre – please let the Police or Council know where you are going. Your family and friends may be unnecessarily worried about you if you are missing and unaccounted for.
