What is happening in Blackpool
The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) have confirmed unconditional approval for
Blackpool’s Primary Capital Programme following the submission of a Strategy for Change document. Funding for 2009 – 2011 is £8.35million and following consultation with the schools and diocese representatives phase 1 schools are confirmed as Norbreck,
Layton, Mereside, Christ the King and Anchorsholme.
Norbreck Primary School is the first school to benefit from the PCP investment with work starting on site summer 2009. The £2.8million scheme will see 3 brand new classrooms, remodelling of classrooms in the original 1930’s block, extended kitchen facilities and revisions to the administration and Headteachers offices. The project will be phased over an 18 month period constructed by Carefoot plc.
