Primary Capital Programme

Primary Capital Programme The Primary Capital Programme (PCP) is a national agenda to transform our primary school environments so they are fit for 21st century learning. Over the next 15 years, significant investment will be available to Blackpool’s primary schools and we aim to rebuild, remodel or refurbish at least half of the town’s primary estate.

The programme gives Blackpool not only an opportunity, but the means to make a significant impact and improvement to the lives of young people. It will create stimulating and inspirational places for pupils to learn where both aspirations and expectations can be driven upwards.
New technologies and ICT are key factors within the transformation agenda. Personalised learning is empowering learners through ICT where it is their needs that are at the heart of the vision and first class facilities will allow pupils to learn in a way that suits them.

Extended services will allow our schools to truly belong at the heart of any local community. Blackpool has already made excellent progress in this area with services available across the borough. However, our aim is to provide year round access for young people and the community alike, to experience sports and leisure activities, support and health services and for adult learning.

Blackpool Council is committed to creating buildings and learning spaces which enhance the local environment and are sustainable in the local community, creating strong and healthy societies.
