In most countries , you can go to either the British High Commission or the British Consul to register an event. Birth, marriage, civil partnership or death certificates are issued by these authorities. A birth certificate can be used as proof of British citizenship, British Dependant Territories citizenship or British Overseas citizenship.
Your overseas registration will then be processed in the UK within 12 months, and from the March of the year after registration, additional certificates can be ordered from the General Register Office (GRO) Overseas Section at Southport, as well as from the overseas department that originally registered the event.
