Rehabilitation

You may need help to manage at home following a sudden illness or injury.

Rehabilitation Services can help you to regain your independence, daily living skills and confidence. We can encourage and help you to do things for yourself.

Specially trained carers will work with you, under the guidance of an occupational therapist or a physiotherapist. They will give you advice on how to cope with your illness or disability, or provide you with aids and equipment to help you do things more easily.

We offer short-term services in your home, in a day centre or in specialist residential care settings. We can also help if you are living in residential or nursing home care and would like to move home again.

We can:

  • Rebuild your skills and confidence in doing everyday activities
  • Teach you new skills or re-learn skills you may have lost
  • Help you to stay out of hospital or permanent residential care - unless this is the right choice for you.
It is difficult to predict how long it will be before you make a recovery. Although each service is for a set period, we can extend it if necessary or offer another service if needed.
